What this LIVE Student Call is about

On Thursday, 20.11.2025 at 4.pm, we go live inside the Online Dog Training Academy for a full deep dive on the retrieve exercise.

I will take the retrieve and break it into three clear parts and show you:

Part #1
Basic Position

First we work on the basic position before the retrieve.
You will learn how to keep your dog calm, clear and focused while you prepare and throw the dumbbell.
No whining, no bouncing, no chaos.
I will show you how to build a dog that sits in a powerful, relaxed position, fully ready for the exercise – so the retrieve starts strong instead of already losing points in the beginning.

Part #2
Hold the Dumbbell

In the second part we focus on the hold.
You will learn how to teach your dog to take the dumbbell calm and firm, without chewing, rolling, or spitting it out.
I will show you step by step how to build a strong grip with a quiet mouth, so the dog looks confident and correct in the exercise.
This is where many teams lose a lot of points – we will clean this up and make the picture clear.

Part #3
Way out and way in

In the third part we put the power into the exercise.
You will learn how to send your dog lightning fast to the dumbbell, get a strong, full grip and then come back to you as fast as possible.
We will work on speed, straight lines and a perfect presentation in front of you – no circling, no slowing down, no messy fronts.
The goal: a retrieve that looks powerful, athletic and under control from the first step to the final finish.
