Retrieve Dog Doesnt want to take the Stick

I’m currently working on improving the retrieve with my dog, Qweris. We had some issues with chewing the dumbbell, so I went a few steps back in training. The chewing has improved a lot, but now he sometimes refuses to take the dowel.
I’m trying to understand why this is happening and whether I should change anything in the way I’m training the exercise.
What do you see in the video, and how would you continue the training from here?
I think tobias is right, what also can help is not immediately pull the tuck out. off his mouth. show him that you willfully but then softly, hopefully he will press with his mouth on the dumbell, then you reward the press on the dumbell behavior.
