2.3 Introduce Leash Pop

We know it is hard to envision why we are teaching you Classical Conditioning response to the leash and left turn. We will use continuous pressure in later steps to minimize the necessity of secondary cues for the dog to move his rear during left turns. Stay with us or take a peek at later steps but do not skip this one.

  1. Hold your leash in the right hand.
  2. Place the dog sitting at 45°.
  3. Lift your hand up for the dog’s attention.
  4. Pause for a second.
  5. Gently tug the leash.
  6. Pause for 1 second.
  7. Lure the dog into the Basic Position.
  8. Lift the hand above the nose.
  9. Pause 1 second.
  10. Mark and reinforce.

Remember to release the dog by tapping if you are resetting.
