Reporting to the Judge

  • When reporting to the judge, you can either use your long line or a short leash attached to the dog. If a short leash attached to the dog, the long line must be dragging.
  • You do not have to heel with a dog, but the dog must remain in basic position while report into the judge.
  • You should give the judge your name, your dog’s name (can be call name), and the level at which you are trialing. After that, you will inform the judge whether your dog will retrieve or indicate the articles. You do not have to tell the judge how your dog will indicate. This way the judge will not be expecting a specific behavior.
  • Upon the judge’s command, you will approach the setup area.
